Wood, acrylic, vines, paper pulp sculpted roses stained with transubstantiated wine, cotton, silk, electrical components and a variety of offerings.
Venue: Concertina Gallery
The Act:
a. Encased in casket with eyes shut
b. Prompted viewer to kneel & place offerings
c. Opened eyes
d. Stared directly at kneeler until risen
e. Shut eyes
f. Waited
Viewers are asked to kneel in front of the casket, while the artist is lying inside with her eyes closed. Upon kneeling, her eyes open and stare directly at the viewer. The lights on the casket come on and are dimmed and illuminated in the rhythm of the artist’s breathing until the viewer stands up.
