Elise Goldstein, a Chicago-based installation and performance artist, utilizes her experiences in acute psychological intervention, her training as a hypno-therapist, and her ongoing interest in the theatricality of religion and mental illness to explore issues of trauma, recollection and transference. While granting permission for both the redemptive and the indulgent, she investigates the constant transmutation of imbued substances.
